PURPOSE:To obtain a battery having light weight, large discharge capacity, and long cycle life by using polyaniline as a positive electrode and either one of aluminum, zinc, aluminium-lithium alloy, and zinc-lithium alloy as a negative electrode. CONSTITUTION:Polyaniline is used as positive active material, and either one of aluminum, zinc, zluminium-lithium alloy, and zinc-lithium alloy is used as negative material, and a salt containing lithium ion is used as electrolyte. For example, a battery is made by using polyaniline obtained by electrolytically polymerizing aniline in hydrochloric acid solution as a positive electrode, and an aluminum piece as a negative electrode, and a polypropylene porous film as a separator. Propylene carbonate solution containing one molar LiClO4 is used as electrolyte. This battery provides high power, flat discharge voltage, high charge-discharge efficiency, and long cycle life. |
