<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus for executing toner saving without deteriorating reproduction of an original image.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus includes: image processing means for converting an input image into an image signal corresponding to an output device; image output means for outputting an image by using a color material corresponding to the image signal converted by the image processing means; density detection means for detecting density of the color material used by the image output means; pattern extraction means for extracting any one color material suppression pattern out of two or more color material suppression patterns for suppressing consumption of the color material in accordance with solid density determined on the basis of the detection result of the density detection means; and solid image adjustment means for adjusting a dot pattern of a solid image of the input image on the basis of the color material suppression pattern extracted by the pattern extraction means.</p> |
