Profiled body for mounting a second glass layer 5 at a distance from a first glass layer 2 in a window frame 1, which body serves as a distance piece between the glass layers. The interspace between the glass layers and the distance piece is sealed. The distance piece 6 and 15 preferably consists of a non-rigid material which is provided with an impermeable coating 9 which, along the entire length of the distance piece, covers all its sides 7, 8 and 10 facing the panes 2 and 5 and the window frame 1 and seals against the glass layers and the window frame. The impermeable material 9 consists of an elastic material. Furthermore, the distance piece is preferably made in the form of a hollow profile filled with a desiccant and has longitudinal deformation indentations 11 and 12 which make it possible to bend the distance piece at the corners of the window frame without pressing the glass layers away from one another. <IMAGE>
