PURPOSE:To reduce the frequency of the discarding of waste toner and shorten a standstill time when the waste toner container is full by providing a detecting means for the contacting between the waste toner container and a waste toner conveying member, and operating a waste toner detecting means and the connection detecting means associatively with each other. CONSTITUTION:A disk 18 at an end part of a conveying member 6 is run through the round hole 9 of the waste toner container 4 which is not used yet, and when the projection 20 of a ring 19 is fitted in and rotated, the projection 20 stops at an end of a groove 10b. The disk 18 pushes and opens a shutter 13 against the force of a coiled spring 14 and the shutter 13 operates on the contact of a microswitch 15 to close the circuit of a lamp 22. When the circuit of the lamp 22 is closed, the lamp 22 turns on and light from the lamp 22 strikes a photoelectric element 21 because the waste toner container 4 is not full of waste toner to indicate that the container is not full with the electric signal of a fullness detecting circuit; and a power circuit is closed and an electronic copying machine begins to operate. A toner conveying member 6 is united, so if a connection with none of waste toner containers is made, the microswitch 15 does not operate and the electronic copying machine does not operates even when the switch is turned on. |
