PURPOSE:To monitor securely and safely a dangerous material by covering the dangerous body with fabric which used optical fibers as lateral or/and longitudinal threads. CONSTITUTION:Light emitted by a light source is made incident on one end bundle surface of fabric which uses optical fibers as lateral or/and rate unless there is no changer of the dangerous material covered with the fabric 2. If the dangerous body 3 rises in temperature or increases in capacity, the fibers expand or contract to variation in attenuation rate, so that the quantity of light at the projection terminal varies. The distribution of the quantity of light is converted into an electric signal by an image sensor 4 at specific intervals of time. The difference between the output signal of the image sensor 4 and the contents of a reference memory 5 is calculated and written in a differential value memory 6. The contents of the differential value memory 6 are displayed on a display 7 and also monitored by a microprocessor, etc. |
