PURPOSE:To make it possible to fabricate a workpiece with a high degree of accuracy with the use of a machine tool such as, for example, drilling machine, tapping machine, by providing such an arrangement that the amount of feed for cutting is changed in accordance with the material of the workpiece. CONSTITUTION:In a machine tool in which a tool is stepped in a several time for a workpiece composed of various kinds of materials so that a single hole is formed by several steps, a random memory 1 in the form of a memory means for storing therein coefficients corresponding to feed amounts for cutting, material properties, etc., may store therein the coefficients of materials, the amounts of cut-feeds of taps and drills, etc. Further, there are provided a central processing unit (CPU)2 serving as a computing means and a read-only-memory (ROM)3 seving as a main part of a feed control means for controlling the feed of the tool to be step-fed. With this arrangement, the workpiece may be efficiently fabricated. |
