<p>According to a process for circulating and aerating a liquid collected in a storage vessel (11), in particular liquid manure, by means of air, from the base of the storage vessel (11), in its edge region or in its centre, air bubbles (16) and one or more air jets are to be introduced continuously or intermittently vertically into the liquid, as a result of which an upwardly directed flow is generated in such a way that as a result of the ascending liquid and the entrained liquid a circulation (17, 18) is induced. If air is supplied in this manner to a liquid situated in a storage vessel, a flow is generated in the form of one or more liquid rolls (17, 18) as a result of which sink materials located on the base are also vortexed.
