A clamp for cableways which are adapted to be coupled, comprising a clamping jaw (2), which is fixed to the clamp housing, and a movable clamping jaw (3), which is forced against the cable (1) by means of a spring, spring set or the like (7), which is disposed in the clamp housing, wherein the spring (7) is adapted to be stressed by means of a shifting lever (12), which has an arm that is positively guided at the coupling by means of a stationary coupling rail and which via a series of camming surfaces and a pressure roller (10) bearing on said camming surfaces positively transmits to the movable clamping jaw (3) the shifting movement imparted to the lever by the coupling rail, the spring or spring set surrounds a rod (5), which projects from the movable clamping jaw in the direction of its displacement, said spring or spring set bears at one end on a flange (4) of said clamping jaw and bears at its other end on a slider (8), which is slidably guided along the rod (5) within the clamp housing (6), the pressure roller (10) is carried by the slider at that end which faces away from the clamping jaws, and the shifting lever (12) is movably mounted directly on the clamp housing and provided with the series of camming surfaces, which are shaped to effect coupling and uncoupling operations, characterized in that the shifting lever (12) has two arms, one of which is actuated by the coupling rail whereas the second arm carries a cam (11, 11') which is provided with the series of camming surfaces, which are divided into at least two separate series of camming surfaces by a point of maximum force transmission (neutral point), and one of said series is associated with the coupling and uncoupling operations and the other with the locking operation. |
