PURPOSE:To obtain the efficient relational operation between two relations of different record length by providing the first buffer stocking the first relation and the second buffer stocking the second relation. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 11 controls the whole relational data base engine RDBE, a sorter 12 using a two-way marge sort system consists of sort cells 12-0-12-11 of twelve steps for sorting of the maximum 4K record. An INP linear 13 is provided on the input side of a sorter 12 for sort preprocessing that a key field to be compared in sorting is moved to the head of a record. A sort checker 14 monitors whether the sort result of the INP liner 13 is right or wrong. A merger 10 is connected with the sort checker 14 to carry out the relational operation with high speeds between one or two relations sort processed by the sorter 12. The INP liner 13 and the like constitutes an engine core 15 to carry out the pipe line processing synchronized with input data.
