PURPOSE:To enable to obtain images with uniform density and favorable quality, by varying a bias voltage impressed on signal electrodes in synchronism with an ion moving action at an address in accordance with outputting of information at a predetermined address. CONSTITUTION:Nonuniformity in density arises from scattering of hole diameter or the like. For appropriate correction, the presence or absence of nonuniformity or, as a substitutive characteristic, the hole diameter is examined for each opening part, thereby preliminary determining whether or not correction is required, for each opening part. For an opening part with small hole diameter, correction is conducted by raising an insulating value for the bias voltage. To obtain the address signal, a scan clock count output for the relevant driving electrode Dn-1, Dn, Dn+1 is obtained by using a clock pulse-1 (b) used for scanning of the driving electrodes (d), and a scan clock pulse output corresponding to a signal electrode to be corrected is taken out by using a clock pulse-2 (c) used for scanning of the signal electrodes. When an output corresponding to the address to be corrected is provided, it is inverted, thereby turning OFF a transistor Tr1. |
