PURPOSE:To make a selecting mechanism of recording media small and to increase memory capacity per unit capacity by shifting, in the length-wise direction of a rotary shaft, disk-shaped recording media which are fitted at the rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:A pin 32 in an optical disk shifting mechanism 5 goes into a slit 21, a lock spring 31 is connected to a notch 22 and optical disks 1a-1j will not shift. An optical head 6 facing the optical disk 1g is shunted, a small gear 44 to a gear case at the position of optical disks 1d-1f is rotated, a responding pin 32 is projected from the slit 21 and the lock spring 31 is removed from the notch 22. The shifting mechanism 5 is shifted and the optical disks 1d-1f are shifted by one pitch. The position is set so that the small gear 44 can be rotated, the pin 32 can go into the slit 21, the lock spring 31 can be connected to the notch 22, the optical disks 1d-1f can be fixed on the rotary shaft 2 and the optical head 6 and face the optical disk 1d. |
