<p>PURPOSE:To avoid a sheet from being inserted excessively and to prevent a jam by fixing an engaging piece to a sheet feed roller or a shaft interlocking with the roller, thereby to block up a sheet transport path at the time of starting. CONSTITUTION:In the condition of preparation for installing a new document, a notch 24' confronts with a multifeed preventing roller 24b, and the forward end of a cam 41 is engaged with a notch 31a of a lever 31, so that the lever 31 and a document feed starting roller 25 are lifted up. Through an operator inserts a document deeply as much as possible, in such a condition, the forward end of an engaging piece 63 is brought into contact with the upper surface of a guide plate 64, whereby the document 8 is checked from being further inserted toward a document feed roller 24a. Accordingly, when the leading end of the document D is brought into contact with the engaging piece 63, the operator perceives that the document can not be further inserted to prevent the occurrence of a jam caused by inserting the document excessively at the time of starting feeding the document.</p> |
