The deformable structure comprises at least two closed rings, 1, 2 situated in parallel planes P1, P2 and a series of pairs of linking arcs a1, a2 ..., forming bundles, between the rings. An arc a1 of a pair is articulated at its two ends to one 1 of the rings, whilst the other arc a2 of the same pair is articulated at both its ends to the other ring 2. The apexes of the two arcs a1, a2 ... of the same pair are connected to one another by an articulation 5. When the pairs of linking arcs are situated inside the contour of the rings 1, 2, they come into abutment against one another and hold the rings 1, 2 apart. When the pairs of linking arcs are turned towards the outside with respect to the contour of the rings, the latter can come closer to one another. <IMAGE>
