<p>A mold clamping force regulating apparatus for an injection molding machine having a toggle type of mold clamping device, the apparatus being adapted to regulating the mold clamping force to a predetermined level automatically. The control means (28-32, 35) in this apparatus are adapted to drive a first servomotor (18) while maintaining toggle links (7, 8) in the mold clamping device in an extending state and to move a layer platen (6) forward until the value of a detected driving current for the first servomotor (18) has reached a predetermined level after the layer platen (6) abuts the metal mold. The toggle links (7, 8) are then bent by the control means (28-32, 35) to move the layer platen (6) forward by a distance corresponding to the predetermined mold clamping force, to be fixed to tie bars (5).</p> |
