PURPOSE:To obtain good output picture of a color picture by adding a weight coefficient to color picture data, or using a method, etc., to set one special color data to a judging signal and executing an area judging processing. CONSTITUTION:Input picture data (r'), (g') and (b') from an input system of a low resolution are once accumulated respectively in buffer memories 11-13. A signal generating circuit 14 for judgement reads picture data (ri), (gi) and (bi) necessary to judgement from buffers 11 13, and a signal (f) for judgement used for an area judging operation is outputted from the circuit 14. The signal (f) is input;ed to an edge detecting circuit 15m, the low cycle component is cu and becomes an edge signal (h) only for a high cycle component correspond ing to an edge in the picture. The signal is inputted to an area judging circuit 16 and an area signal (i), which divides an edge and non-edge areas, is outputted. The signal (i) is inputted to selecting circuits 17-19, and at these circuits based upon the signal (i), either of input picture data (r), (g) and (b) having high resolu tion and picture data (r'), (g') and (b') from the buffer memories 11-13 is selected, which are output signals (rr), (ig) and (ib). |
