PURPOSE:To prevent a shift in transfer position and perform efficient fixation by providing driving motors for a photosensitive drum and a fixing roller in independently of each other and switching the position relation between the both according to the length of transfer paper. CONSTITUTION:The motor M1 for the rotary drum and the motor M2 for the heat roller 17a are provided independently of each other, and their motor speeds are controlled through a motor speed control circuit 23 according to the length of recording paper. The length of the recording paper is detected by a recording paper size sensor 20 and a decision circuit 20. When the recording paper length B is equal to or larger than the distance A from a separation position to a fixation position, a transfer speed V1 is equalized to a fixation speed V2 and when the length B is smaller than the distance A, switching is so performed that V1>V2. Consequently, the transfer paper is never suppressed with the speed of the heat roller, so a shift in transfer position is prevented and efficient fixation is performed. |
