PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of jamming of wide paper at the time of paper feed, by providing the means for detecting the paper when said paper was supplied to a paper hopper and the means for moving a printing head to the center part of the paper when said paper was detected. CONSTITUTION:A paper width detection switch 44 for detecting the width of paper is attached to the right end of a paper supply part 36 and a detection piece 45 is attached to a slide right guide plate 39. When the slide right guide plate 39 is moved when wide paper is placed, the detection piece 45 is contacted with the paper width detection switch 44. At this time, a printing head 34 and an ink ribbon cassette 33 are moved to the center of the paper in the lateral direction (the center of a platen in the lateral direction) by the signal from the switch 44 to prevent the single side pressing of the paper. |
