PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent response characteristic similar to an analogue one, by unifying a cycle to a definite short value and making the most of the easiness in the processing of a numerical value characterized by a digital type while calculating a count rate by the operation of a microprocssor. CONSTITUTION:In a digital rate meter consisting of a count circuit 2, an input register 6, a clock pulser 6, a microprocessor 7, an output register 8 and a display part 10, the cycle of a clock pulse is united to a short value and the operation similar to that of an analogue type pump circuit is performed by a digital circuit while the past count value and the count value at the present point of time are mixed to form a display value and, by controlling the mixing ratio, the time constant of a response characteristic can be controlled and a count rate is calculated and the control corresponding to the change in said value is performed. By this method, the response characteristic optimum to a use purpose is obtained, and fluctuation and transitional response characteristic can be held to proper relation.
