PURPOSE:To appropriately polish a workpiece such as a metal mould or the like by means of a desired polishing force by supporting a lever with a moment in the direction contrary to that of an elevation/lowering member by means of a weight and adjusting a force given to the workpiece by a polishing tool on the tip of said member. CONSTITUTION:A lever 5 is supported in swiveling configuration with respect to a fitting device 12 arranged in a predetermined position. Moment of force in the predetermined direction is given to the lever 15 by an elevation/lowering member 40 connected to said fitting device 12. In addition to the abovementioned moment, moment of the force in the direction contrary to that of said member 40 is given to the lever 15 by means of a weight 21. A polishing tool 50 fitted to said member 40 is vibrated by means of a vibration generating device 46, and the force given to a workpiece (for example, metal mould) 90 by this polishing tool 50 is continuously adjusted through operating a handle 36 of a lever support device 16. Thus, the face of the metal mould 90 of any shape formed by various curved face, plane face and the like are polished by appropriate polishing force. |
