PURPOSE:To suppress the temperature rise of the inside of a carrier to obtain a good image quality even if the peripheral speed of the carrier is raised, by providing a cooling mechanism which lets a cooling wind into the carrier. CONSTITUTION:Holes 10 are provided on both side faces 5a and 5a having no developer of a carrier 5, and a cylindrical wind guide member 11 is arranged to face one side face 5a, and this member 11 is connected to a duct 13 through a joint 12, and the duct 13 is connected to a blower 14, thereby constituting the cooling mechanism which lets the cooling wind into the carrier 5. A temperature detecting sensor 20 is provided in the carrier 5, and the weight of the blower 14, for example, the rotative speed of a motor 21 and the temperature are controlled by the detected temperature of the sensor 20. Thus, the cooling wind is always accurately delivered into the carrier, and the temperature rise of the carrier 5 is suppressed to keep it at a certain temperature. |
