<p>An apparatus for cladding a cylindrical plate 24 comprises a mandrel 12 rotatably mounted in support beams 16. In use, a motor 20 rotates the mandrel 12 which rotates the cylindrical plate 24 beneath a device 26 which applies molten cladding to the outer surface of the cylindrical plate 24. The distance between the outer surface of the cylindrical plate 24 and the device 26 remains substantially constant throughout the operation. The cylindrical plate 24 may be of circular or oval cross-section.</p> |
