For cleaning radial outlet pipes (3) on secondary clarifying tanks of sewage treatment plants, a cleaning slide (10) can travel on guide rails (8) along the scraper arm (1) of the secondary clarifying tank. The cleaning slide (10) carries one semi-cylindrical brush segment (20) on each of unfoldable pivot arms (19), which together form a brush ring (21) enclosing the outlet pipe (3). When the cleaning slide (10) moves along the scraper arm (1), one of the outlet pipes (3) in each case is freed on its exterior from algal growth. The two brush segments (20) on the pivot arms (19) are then unfolded and folded up in such a way that, when the scraper arm (1) is pivoted, they can be moved over the cleaned outlet pipe (3) and over the next outlet pipe to be cleaned.
