Prepn. of foodstuff for very small fish comprising granules of =300 mu m, comprises agglomerating an agitated bed of essentially solid, finely-divided foodstuff ingredients with a mean particle size of no more than 150 mu m by spraying on them an aq. soln. of non-toxic polymer and opt. drying the prod. to 15% and opt. classifying the prod. so that it contains >10% w/w of granules with a max. particle size of 300 mu m. Food is suitable for feeding larvae of sea fish including crustaceans and molluscs. In an example, a typical foodstuff contg. 68% fish meal, 13% skim milk powder, 10% mineral/vitamin mixt. and 9% edible oil was milled and agglomerated at 30 degrees C with 5% gelatin soln. at 60 degrees C, 44% of prod. was fit for larvae of sole and 10% for turbot.
