PURPOSE:To decrease the inertial of an actuator and to shorten an access time by aligning the gap position of a core slider and the center of the actuator at the shortest distance through a gimbal. CONSTITUTION:The fitting method of a head is changed to the system obtained by modifying a conventional one by 90 deg.. Namely, the gap position of a core slider and the center of a pivot shaft of a rotary actuator 9 are so aligned to be the shortest distance through a gimbal 18 and a road arm 17. Thus the inertia mass of the rotary actuator 9 is made smaller and the access time can be shortened if a voice coil motor 11 with the same output is employed. |
