摘要 PURPOSE:To hold an air-fuel ratio to a target value by averaging flow rates of intake air with use of a coefficient of the averaging estimated in response to, upon detecting an automatic speed regulator being shifted between N and D ranges, the time elapsed of said shift. CONSTITUTION:It is judged, in operation of an engine, whether or not a coefficient of averaging is less than a reference value 1.0 for each passage of prescribed time (4ms) in a computer 26. And, judged YES, subject to an automatic speed regulator 40 being already judged to be shifted from an N to D range or from a D to N range, the time elapsed after the shift of the automatic speed regulator is measured. And, when the time elapsed exceeds a prescribed period of time (500ms), the coefficient K of averaging its increased by a prescribed amount at a time provided that said time elapsed lies in a period of time T1- T2 to increase the averaging coefficient K. In addition, after the averaging coefficient reaches its upper limit, the averaging coefficient K is reduced by a prescribed amount at a time within a prescribed period of time from T2-T4. With use of averaging coefficient so yielded, flow rates of intake air are averaged.
