PURPOSE:To prevent an engine from irreguralities particularly in low speed rotation by providing horizontally cylindrical rotary valves for intake and exhaust in a cylinder head and inserting a slide body having a intake path area varied according to the rotational frequency of an engine through an intake hole formed in the center of a rotary valve for intake. CONSTITUTION:Cylindrical rotary valves 3, 4 respectively for intake and exhaust are horizontally incorporated in a cylinder head 1 and rotatably interlocked with each other through a crankshaft and a belt transmission. The respective rotary valves 3, 4 are provided with intake and exhaust holes 14, 21 communicating to intake and exhaust pipes 10, 12 and formed axially of valve shaft from one end to a half thereof and elongated openings 15, 22 communicating to these holes 14, 21 and formed radially. Also, a slide body S for regulating the intake path area of the opening 15 is slidably inserted through the intake hole 14 formed in the intake rotary valve 3. And this slide body S is adapted to slide according to the rotational frequency of an engine by a control means of a governor mechanism or the like. |
