<p>8-Chloro 6-(o-chlorophenyl)1-methyl 4H-s-triazolo-(4,3-a) 1,4-benzo diazepine is made by (a) reacting the sodium salt of (A) N-oxide with acetyl chloride in an inert solvent at 20-70 deg.C to obtain the N-oxide of (B); (b) sepg. the salt formed by filtration; (c) reacting (B) with P2S5 in pyridine to obtain (C); and (d) treating this with hydrazine in n-butanol at 100-150 deg.C under a light current of nitrogen. (A) = 7-chloro 5-(o-chlorophenyl) 1,3-dihydro 2H-1,4-benzodiazepin -2-one; (B) = 1-acetyl deriv. of (A); (C) = 1-thioacetyl deriv. of (A).</p> |
