PURPOSE:To enable to produce a record which can be erased and re-visualized, by laminating layer of a photochromic substance or of a color former comprising a photochromic substance on a base. CONSTITUTION:The transfer material 21 consists of a color former layer 2 and the base 3 for supporting the layer 2. The color former layer 2 is formed of a photochromic substance itself or a material comprising a photochromic substance. The photochromic substace may be any one which shows a sufficient contrast between a developed color image and the image in a decolored state, e.g., a spyropyran, a fulgide, an azobenzene or a triphenylmethane. The transfer material 21 can be produced by, for example, a method wherein a solution containing the photochromic substance and a high molecular weight binder is applied to a base 3 by coating or spin coating, followed by drying, or a method wherein the photochromic substance is vapor-deposited on the base 3. |
