The installation comprises, for each machine 1, one or more controlled shut-off devices 3, a waste-removal pipeline 4 subjected to the action of a central suction device 5, and an automatic control member 11 capable of causing the actuation of the shut-off devices 3 according to a selected cycle. A means 13 for detecting the presence of conveyed waste is mounted on the removal pipeline 4, the detection means 13 being connected to the control member 11, in order, on the one hand, to synchronise the detection with the actuation of each individual shut-off device 3 and, on the other hand, to provide an indication of the volume of the waste produced by the textile machine 1 associated with the abovementioned individual shut-off device 3. <IMAGE>
