SURFACTANT COMPOSITIONS, PREPARATION AND STABILIZATION OF COAL IN OIL MIXTURES

Highly concentrated homogeneous liquid surfactant compositions are provided which are particularly advantageous for stabilizing mixtures of pulverized coal in fuel oil useful in conventional fuel oil burning equipment. The surfactant compositions can be prepared by neutralizing an admixture of a nonionic alkylaryl polyoxyalkylene ether and an alkylarylsulfonic acid with C1-3 alkanolamine.
