<p>A base unit for a transportable road bollard is provided with bayonet/threaded formations enabling the unit to be secured to a socket for a reflective stud in a road surface, and a through-hole for use in securing (e.g. bolting) the base unit to the road surface by means other than a stud socket, and the unit is invertible between a first orientation wherein it is compatible with a stud socket and a second orientation wherein it is compatible with an alternative socket. The unit comprises a slot capable of receiving (in either orientation) a stem of a bollard formed from semi-rigid sheet material. The stem has indentations which snap-interfit with resilient projections in the slot, so retaining and stabilising the bollard. Another base unit is such that a transportable road bollard may be releasably secured to it via mutually cooperable bayonet-interfitment means provided on the base unit and the bollard. <IMAGE></p> |
