摘要 |
PURPOSE:To hold optimum temperature of new charge and reduce an amount of NOX and exhaust black smoke in exhaust by injecting water or alcohol downstream of a new charge cooler of an engine with a supercharger according to the running condition of the engine. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust from an engine 1 enters a turbine 5 through an exhaust pipe 3 to drive a compressor 6. Pressurized air enters the engine through new charge pipe 2, and a new charge cooler 9 while fuel is supplied from a fuel injection device 10. Water or alcohol 13 is injected downstream of the new charge cooler 9 from tank 14 containing water or alcohol through a pump 12 and a nozzle 11. Thus air supplied and pressurized by a supercharger to have high temperature is cooled by the new charge cooler 9 and further when it is not sufficiently cooled, water or alcohol is injected according to the running condition of the engine to control the new charge to a predetermined temperature. |
