摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain precise azimuth resolution by imposing single-period modulation on the intensity of radiation to a collimator hole, converting the output of a radiation detector into a time-series one-frequency sequence, and detecting the intensity of radiation. CONSTITUTION:A disk type modulator M1 is rotated by a motor P at a constant speed and its plural small holes (h) cross the front surface of the collimator hole H repeatedly at a constant speed; the area of the overlap between a small hole (h) and the hole H varies at a constant period omega0. Then, single-period modulation is imposed on the intensity of radiation passing through the hole H according to the area variation and a time series signal SD is outputted from the radiation detector D. The rotational position of the modulator M1, on the other hand, is detected by a rotary encoder E, which outputs a signal SE. A converter T1 uses the signal SE as a reference signal to convert the signal SD into a time- series single-frequency sequence. This converted signal corresponds to the amplitude of the component of the period omega0 in the signal SD, and consequently only the intensity of the radiation in the direction from the vertical angle is obtained.
