Autonomous electronic acoustic scarecrow system 4 for periodically producing signals; for example acoustic and visual signals in order to protect certain agricultural areas from damage caused by birds or by other harmful animals, the system being characterised in that it comprises essentially a stationary support 8 containing the electro-acoustic device and surmounted by a rotating silhouette 9 representing a predator. The electro-acoustic part comprises a motor 2 rotating at + 3 revolutions per minute; on the shaft of this motor is fixed the silhouette of the predator 9 and a cam 1 which operates a switch 5 controlling a second motor 7 which rotates at a speed of + 1800 revolutions per minute. This motor possesses at the end of its output shaft a cam 3 which vibrates the blade 6 of the acoustic system which is fixed directly to the support 8. <IMAGE>
