Electric iron handle - with curved upper portion and semi-elliptical configuration in plan view with projecting front portion for ease of handling

Electric iron handle connected to a heated plate has a curved portion whose upper part is inclined at an angle of from 9-15 degrees w.r.t. mean tangent of the curvature which extends over a length of from 50-70% of the length of the plate or approx. between 12-16 cm., the radius of curvature being greater than 25 cm. Rear portion of the handle is inclined at an angle of from 70-80 degrees to the horizontal and adjoins the upper part of the curved portion. Front portion of handle forms a projection 3-4.5 cm. long. In plan view the curved portion and the projection have an elliptical cross-section, the portion and projection including half an ellipse.
