PURPOSE:To improve heat generating characteristics and to improve starting properties of an engine, by a method wherein a heat generating film, having a heater film formed on the surface of a ceramic material serving as a first resistance material and having a negative resistance temperature factor, is connected in series to a second filter film having a second resistance material for controlling a power. CONSTITUTION:A first film heater 12, formed such that a film 11 held at the forward end of a holder 13 and serving as a first resistance material forming a heat generating material is formed on its surface is located in series to a second film heater 21 which has a second resistance material 20 for controlling a power connected in series to the one end of the heater film 11. The second resistance material 20 is engagedly held to the inside of the holder 13 in a condition in that conductive films 20 (20a, 20b, and 20c) are formed as a second resistance material 20 on the outer peripheral surface and both ends surfaces of a body part formed by a ceramic material forming totally about a cylindrical shape and having negative temperature characteristics and heat resistant insulating tubes 24 (24a and 24b) are engaged with the end sides across the outer peripheral part. This enables provision of a quick heating type and a saturated temperature required by a glow plug 10. |
