PURPOSE:To make a device small-sized and prevent a variance of fixing by changing thicknesses in axial directions of pressure fixing devices, whose shafts cross at a prescribed angle, to uniform the pressure distribution in the nip part and securing a required minimum pressure even if diameters of fixing devices are reduced. CONSTITUTION:A press-fixing roll 25 whose thickness is changed in the axial direction is formed, and a minimum diameter D and a maximum diameter D0 are set as shown in the figure, and curves of the section are set as shown in the figure by 25a, 25b, 25c, 25d, and 25e. Two press-fixing rolls 17 and 18 for fixing having the same shape are pressed to each other at a prescribed crossing angle. Though rolls are brought into contact with each other only at one point O while pressures P applied to shafts 17a, 17b, 18a, and 18c of both rolls are low, both rolls 17 and 18 are brought into contact with each other in nip parts 23a and 23b approximately uniformly throughout the length of rolls by approximately equal flexure of both rolls 17 and 18 and are press-fixed uniformly when pressures P are increased gradually. Thus, transfer is performed excellently without the variance independently of the type of a transfer paper to which a latent image is transferred. |
