Snow shoe(1) is made of plastics and consists of a flat area(2) on which the foot is placed and an extension(4) in the form of a grid. The flat area(2) has eight small holes(9a) to (12b) for a cord(8) which attaches the snow shoe to the wearer's foot. The cross-section of the bars(7) which form the grid(4) is diamond shaped so that the sharp edges dig into hard snow or ice and prevent slipping. The platform for the foot is close to the inner edge so that the user does not have to walk with his legs wide apart in order to avoid one foot falling over the other.
