CASTING METHOD USING TUNDISH

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the quality and yield of a billet by providing a refractory sleeve which maintains the original shape until pouring ends to a nozzle inlet for pouring and disposing a sleeve with a gate having an aperture to the outside thereof. CONSTITUTION:The refractory sleeve 3 for forming a pouring basin is provided in the inlet of the pouring nozzle 5 in the bottom of a tundish 2. The refractory sleeve 4 with the gate having at least one aperture 5 in the lower part is further disposed to the outside of the sleeve 3. The inflow of the molten steel 9 poured from a ladle 1 into the tundish 1 to the pouring nozzle 6 is prevented until the required amt. of the pouring basin is formed. The intrusion of slag, etc. into the molten metal in the initial stage and the end stage of pouring is prevented and the billet having good quality is obtd. by the above-mentioned method. The amt. of the residual molten metalin the tundish 2 decreases and therefore the yield is improved.
