For metal welding, the title composition prevents spatter from adhesiving. The mixt. consists of 5 - 35 wt. parts of drying oil, containing iodide; 5 - 35 wt. parts of monoprotic acid; 5 35 wt. parts of polyprotic acid; 5 - 35 wt. parts of alcohol; 1 19 wt. parts of polyethylene glycol and polypropylene glycol; 1 19 wt. parts of an epoxy compd; proper amounts of a counteragent and a diluent is prepd.. This mixt. is esterificated at 170-260 C, amd neutralized at pH6 - pH9, and then diluted with water to give the title composition.
