Hygroscopic or heat-sensitive bulk material, such as de-icing salt, especially calcium chloride salt or calcium ammonium nitrate, is stored in a round container made of wood which has a casing (12) which is open at the top and a steep discharging hopper (14). The casing (12) and at least the upper part of the discharging hopper (14) is lined with a water-impermeable film (34) which is folded over the upper edge of the casing (12) and held tight by a profile strip (36) which is placed over the casing (12) and is made of an elastomer. The profile strip (36) simultaneously seals the casing (12) off from a roof (44) which is supported on the upper edge of the casing (12). The lower edge of the film (34) is fastened to the discharging hopper (14) by means of a strip (46) which runs round the inside of the discharging hopper (14). At a short distance over the circumferential strip (46), condensation water channels (50) lead to the outside. As a result of this, the ability of the bulk material to slip downwards in the container and in the discharging hopper of the latter is considerably improved, as the edge layer of the bulk material is unable to absorb moisture from outside through the film. <IMAGE>
