PURPOSE:To remove surely dust and dirt etc. on the surface of a magnetic head by advancing a cleaning tape for a specified time or distance in contact-sliding with a magnetic head, then rewinding in a shorter range than the advanced time or distance, then again advancing for a specified or distance, thus repeating such operation. CONSTITUTION:In taking the y-axis as the speed and the x-axis as the tape running distance in the tape running, the tape is run for a prescribed time toward the forward direction, rewound for a prescribed time in the backward direction and then run again for a prescribed time in the forward direction. The magnetic tape is cleaned by repeating this operation from the start end O of the tape of the end E. Since the head surface is wiped out many times through the running operation above, sure magnetic head cleaning is applied. That is, the cleaning tape is run while it is rewound, then the magnetic head is cleaned more surely. |
