PURPOSE:To improve the magnetic characteristics of a magnetic steel sheet and to reduce the iron loss of the iron core of a transformer when the iron core is made of the steel sheet by forming an amorphous alloyed layer on at least one side of the steel sheet. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic steel sheet 22 to be treated is immersed in an aqueous electrolyte soln. 2 and transferred from a metal leaching region 15 for the 1st stage at the inlet side to a metal electrodeposition region 16 for the 2nd stage at the outlet side. In the 1st stage, pulsating voltage with positive polarity is applied between the steel sheet 22 and an intermediate electrode 10 to leach metallic ions from the surface, and pulsating voltage with negative polarity is applied between them to reduce and destroy a passive film. In the 2nd stage, pulsating voltage with positive polarity is applied between the steel sheet 22 and the electrode 10 to electrodeposit metallic ions. An amorphous alloyed layer is formed on the surface of the steel sheet 22. |
