PURPOSE:The titled composition, obtained by incorporating an N-long chain alkyloylsarcosinate having a metal selected from lithium, magnesium, nickel, tin, copper, zinc and aluminum as a base, and having foul breath inhibitory action. CONSTITUTION:A composition for oral cavity obtained by incorporating 0.05- 0.5wt% N-long chain alkyloylsarcosinate having two or more metals selected from lithium, magnesium, nickel, tin, copper, zinc and aliminum as a base, e.g. lauroylsarcosinate. The above-mentioned N-long chain alkyloylsarcosinate inhibits the ability of bacteria belonging to the genus Fusobacterium to generate foul breath which is a cause for generating the foul breath, and exhibits the foul breath inhibitory effect. A surfactant, e.g. nonionic, anionic or amphoteric surfactant, may be further incorporated in the above-mentioned composition and used as toothpaste, tooth wash, gingiva massage cream, etc. |
