PURPOSE:To take a remedy for blooming without decreasing an opening rate of elements by arranging an overflow drain in a storing part and arranging a gate between a memory register and a vertical register and connecting it with a transfer gate electrically. CONSTITUTION:A solid-state image pickup device is composed of an image pickup part A and a storing part B. An overflow drain 6' is arranged adjacently to a memory register 9 of the storing part and an overflow drain gate 7' is so arranged that it overlaps a part of a vertical register 2, that of the memory register 9, and of the drain 6'. Also a transfer gate 3' is present adjacently to the drain 6' and register 9. By such constitution, it becomes unnecessary to arrange the drain 6' which stores excessive signal charges adjacently to a photoelectric transfer part 1, thereby enabling the increase in an opening rate of elements. |
