PURPOSE:To form a multicolor image of high quality with only one rotation of a latent image carrier by forming an electrostatic latent image consisting of picture elements on the latent image carrier and developing it with one or plural color toners for each color designating unit. CONSTITUTION:An operator operates a keyboard 6 to edit pictures while projecting them on a display part 5, and edited shape, color, etc. are stored in a memory 7. A picture signal is called from the memory 7 and is inputted to a semiconductor laser 10, and a laser beam modulated by the picture signal is emitted and reaches a photosensitive body surface 1 to form an electrostatic latent image corresponding to a soft picture. The latent image is developed to a visible image by a developing device 12. A toner layer which is uniformly electrostatically charged negatively is inverted to the positive polarity selectively by multistyluses 16, 16a, etc., and a toner having the positive polarity is stuck electrostatically to the electrostatic latent image. Thus, a multicolor image is formed with one rotation of the latent image carrier, and therefore, the image forming time is shortened and the structure of a device is made small-sized. |
