The invention relates to a rotating-anode X-ray tube (1) from whose anode (14) heat is transported away by means of a heat sink. For this purpose, the anode (14) is provided with a recess into which a heat sink (19, 19.1, 22) is inserted which is connected in a heat-conducting manner to a cooling device (19, 19.1), for example a heat pipe (19.1). The extraction of the heat takes place on the side of the anode plate (14) which is opposite the rotor (15), so that the bearing is thermally relieved of stress.
