In order that different grain can be stored and, if appropriate, mixed in a mill, in particular a domestic corn mill, a mill consists of four partitions and corresponding inner and outer walls which form a supply compartment having four chambers for the grain and enclose a motor and control compartment. In a support plate, four valves, which can each be opened individually, with their piping system are assigned to the chambers in order to feed the grain to the mill stones. An upper stationary stone and a runner, which forms the centre of the stone conically with part of its basic surface, receive the grain via spoon-shaped screens. Opposite the grinding sides, each millstone is enclosed in a die-cast plate. Steel bars anchored in the stationary stone guide the electric motor, via spring-mounted support plates, and the crusher stone, connected to the motor spindle, to a horizontally parallel spacing of the two grinding surfaces. The vertical spacing of the grinding surfaces can be adjusted via a flanged-on lifting/lowering spindle. The vibrations occurring during a grinding process are absorbed via a system of Silentbloc-type rubber-metal connections.
