PURPOSE:To obtain a piezoelectric motor which has a simple structure and inexpensive and small size by providing a cylindrical piezoelectric unit separably engaged with a rotational shaft around the shaft to transmit the thicknesswise vibration of a laminated piezoelectric unit provided separately to the cylindrical unit. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical piezoelectric unit 3 which operates to grip or separate a rotational shaft 2 is movably engaged around the shaft 2. A laminated piezoelectric unit 7 which extends or contracts in the thicknesswise direction is secured at one end to a case 1, and the free end is coupled through a coupling member 6 with the unit 3. In order to rotate the shaft 2 by the piezoelectric motor, the unit 7 is extended to given a rotary force in the state that the shaft 2 is first grasped by the unit 3, the unit 3 is separated from the shaft 2 to contact the unit to return only the unit 3 to the original position, and the operation is repeated. |
