<p>A wall-mounted hair dryer has a casing (12) which contains a heating element (40), a motor (58), an impeller and associated electrical circuitry. There is a flexible air hose (32) terminating in a handle (34) having an outlet (36) for directing hot air onto the person of a user. The handle (34) can be secured detachably against the casing (12), and a switch (46) is provided to switch on the hair dryer when the handle (34) is detached from the casing (12) and to switch it off when the handle (34) is replaced. A timer circuit (56) is also provided to switch off the hair dryer after a predetermined period of operation.</p> |
